15 hours/week

Groundworks enters its ninth competition season in 2026–2027. Dancers in this company attend 3–5 convention competitions and 1–2 stage competitions each year. They participate in group routines, with opportunities for solos and duets. Competition dancers must follow all class and rehearsal requirements outlined in the company contract. These dancers compete at the
advanced level.

Apprentice Program

Ages 8+

12 hours/week

The Apprentice Program is designed for dancers who want high‑level training with a strong emphasis on classical technique across genres. It’s ideal for dancers who:

  • Balance academics or multiple extracurriculars

  • Want rigorous training with more flexibility

  • Are preparing to transition into a more intensive program next season

Apprentice dancers are encouraged to attend convention training and may compete solos if they choose. This is our most flexible structured training option.

Pre-Professional Program

Ages 14+

18–20 hours/week

The Pre‑Professional Program is built for dancers who plan to pursue a college degree or career in dance. Training includes advanced technique classes, performance opportunities, and résumé‑building projects. This program is ideal for dancers committed to a professional path and ready to develop the skills, experience, and to gain the industry exposure needed for the next step.

Pre‑professional dancers have the option to participate in Competition Company routines, solos, and to attend convention training events.
